expository prewrite
When I first started thinking about this expository essay, I had a couple of ideas on my hands.I had an idea about a best friend, an idea about a holiday a while back, and a few other things. the one i chose, however, is a vacation i took with my family back when i was in the 10th grade. Im still a bit stuck on the detils of what questions I'm going to ask myself for this, but a couple rough ideas I have are what activities we took part in while on our trip, what I believe i thought at the time of some of the more important parts, and im still trying to figure out what it was i was supposed to have figured out on the trip. Im sure if i think about it, do some serious brainstorming and explore my brain a little bit, ill get some very good ideas.

Kameron,
Your essay must get at the grit of a memory and to really explore somehing you don't understand. You are in danger of writing a "what i did on vacation essay," instead of an exploration essay. You want to make sure you are getting at something important in the memory. Did the experience cause you to think of your family differently? Did this trip cause you to come to some understading of how the world works? etc. If you can't answer tis you might want to change your topic.
Possible topic prompts:
1. The moment I realized I was different/the same as...
2. The first time I met someone from a different culture
3. the first time I remember feeling....
